About MEMORU

MEMORU is written in JavaScript, and is portable to computers using different operating systems.
However the various Browsers do not react the same way.  Use Mozilla/Firefox.

It is possible to save the lessons on your computer and work offline.

The female voice files were created using the MBROLA environment for voice synthesis.
Those voice files (*. mp3) use a lot of a space, more than I have at my disposal on my server. I cannot keep them all.

The ideas behind MEMORU is quite simple:

It's easier to remember a sentence than words, and easier to remember words than letters .

The words at the end of the sentence, are more important than the first, when memorizing.

Is not useful to request the learner to prove again and again that he is remembering everything. That is his own responsibility.
It's counter-productive to compel the learner to type all letters of a word or a sentence to remember.
Is not necessary to hide the most significant words, the remembering process also works when one hides words that can be easily guessed.
Something is well remembered if it has been forgotten three times already. So don't get frustrated if you forgot; next time you'll remember.

A previous version of this program was used in a school to teach French as a second language
